SAM (Story, Audience, Message and Style)
Story:
1.       The story in this piece is to convince the audience to help Haiti by donating money after the earthquake that occurred there.

Audience
1.       The audience for this piece is anyone who reads the poster.
2.       I can tell that this piece was created for the audience because the person who creates this poster talks in a third person point of view which makes you know right away it’s directed to other people.
Message:
1.       The message of this poster is to donate money to Haiti because it helps them deal with the difficulties of losing everything after the earthquake and giving them a foundation to start rebuilding.
Style:
1.       The style of this piece would definitely be considered nonfiction.
2.       The author made this poster poetic because they had a hand reaching down from above and holding a small child’s hand that was in Haiti.
3.       The techniques the author used to convey the message was that they used dominance, the picture of the hands holding each other hold the audience’s main attention and draws them into reading the rest of the poster.
4.       The author used text that popped in order the get people to read the message.
5.       The visual appearance of the poster is clear and easy to read, but the last two words are small and hard to see from a distance.
6.       There are no objects or sounds that are distracting.
7.       The visuals contribute to the picture because the picture shows someone holding the hand of probably a small child and it creates a caring feeling for most people and makes them want to donate because of the small children who live there and lost everything.

A Perfect World
A perfect world is world without cyber bullying or abuse. A perfect world is a world that we can only image. If people did not bully others people would feel more safe in their surroundings. Bullying may not seem harmful but it leads to things much worse than the expected, people who feel attacked and alone result in suicide. Bullying is something that is not tolerated but usually goes unnoticed because the victim would be too afraid to open up and tell someone. Cyber Bulling affects me personally because someone that I knew was being bullied, they did not tell their family or friends and ended up attempting suicide. If we could eliminate cyber bullying, or even bullying in person, kids would not feel afraid of going to school and going on the internet, there would be less suicides and drama. I believe a world free of bullying is a part of a perfect world.

Future Goal Write Up
Throughout my past I was always inspired and determined to good in school because all my life my mom has been a teacher and my brother was a straight a student. My mom had high expectations and expected me to excel throughout my school years. My goal in life was to become a teacher like my mom and help people. My goals changed when I was thirteen, my dad told me that my neighbor studied to be a marine biologist. I got into Marine Biology and realized it was something I could truly enjoy; I did more and more research on it and talked to my neighbor it a lot. In the future I plan on going to University of California Santa Barbara I want to major in marine biology and play volleyball throughout my college years. When I graduate I want to work at a place like SeaWorld and be a dolphin trainer. I know that in order to get into UC Santa Barbara I have to keep my grades up and my mom inspires me to do that.

Flash Photography

Flash Photography
Flash photography is a type of photography that produces a flash of artificial light at a color temperature. Most cameras now day have a built in flash that is automatic, but some cameras still have a separate flash units. Professionals have separate flash units that they carry around separately in order to have the perfect amount of light. Flash is what allows the camera to see in the dark; it creates light so the subject in the dark is visible. Flash is basically the cameras main source of light when the background light is not sufficient enough. There a different types of flash: direct flash, fill flash, and bounce flash. Direct flash is when the flash is emitted directly at the subject, this occurs for most cameras with a built in flash. Direct flash can reach longer distances than any other form of flash photography. Fill flash is using flash outdoor on a sunny day to improve the quality of your photos, reduce shadows, and improve the brightness and colors of your picture. Bounce flashes are flash units that reflect off the ceiling or reflector in order that results in soft diffused light pictures and no red-eye.
Flash photography is helpful to our types of photography today without flash units pictures would be shadowy and lightless. Flash has come a long way it use to be that flash units would not be attached to a camera and came separately but today we have camera with flash built right in. I use flash all the time when I take pictures in order to enhance my pictures so therefore I don’t know what I would do without flash.
